Blog Tour: A Review of Praying with the Church.

  • The past few years I have found that a commitment to a set time or amount of praying each week, usually done on specific day has increased my prayer time for others. The "I have to do it" along with a specific written out list provides a framework.

I grew up with condemnations of the "formula prayers" but found that we ended up with our own formula prayers.

I spent several months one year reading prayer books and was quite impressed with the amount of scripture used in them and the subjects they covered.

Ritual and specific times stitch our lives together in a continuum that holds us together when chaos hits. Sometimes it holds as we blindly go through what we have always done until we realize a deeper truth, sometimes the words strike us with their truths as the chaos hits.

Thanks for stopping by Scot. Enjoyed both this book and the Jesus Creed and have found them both very profitable in my ministry.
  • Jim,
Let me thank you for this kind review. I'm finding there are a lot more of us that need this kind of help than I imagined. Blessings on you and your prayers.
